ABSTRACT
Many smaller libraries do not have their own protocol for the selection of computer systems. This was the case at the library of Technical Information Services, The Dow Chemical Company. A protocol was developed with the aid of the Library’s data processing support group. As described here, the protocol begins after the appointment of the automation team and ends with the evaluation of proposals.
