Furnishing the Electronic Library book
For most of us without architectural training or three-dimensional imaging abilities, the step from the two-dimensional blueprint to the reality of the completed library facility is a huge one. What is it really going to look like? The less experience we have with making the transition from blueprint squares and rectangles to chairs, tables, and other furnishings that we can see and feel, the more uneasy we are about making the decisions that will make this happen. Although the blueprint is the critical foundation, some very important decisions about furnishing contribute significantly to the overall success of the library. Here the art of library planning takes over from the science of space-need projections, blueprint specifications, and engineering drawings.
