Selection of Equipment and Furnishings book
A cleverly designed library with a splendid collection and an unusual decor can still prove to be disappointing to its users and the library staff if the equipment and furnishings are not suitable, adequate, or attractive. The selection of what goes into the library can have a great impact on how it is perceived by those who use it. This chapter discusses the topic briefly, with references to other chapters that deal with the subject in greater detail. Chapter 11 “Furnishing the Electronic Library” is primarily concerned with this subject, including making provision for computers and other electronic equipment.
