ABSTRACT
DIALOG has added a new database which provides information on the chemical industry. CHEM-INTELL covers chemical plants and chemical trade and production statistics worldwide. Available as File 318, the database produced by Chemical Intelligence Services, a division of Reed Telepublishing Ltd., provides information on plant ownership and plant capacities as well as trade and production figures on over 100 organic chemicals. Data in the file are divided between two unique subfiles. Records in the Plant Reports subfile concern chemical processes; feedstocks; plant ownership, location, and capacity. The Trade and Production Statistics subfile provides production quantities for the latest ten years and export and import figures, including a detailed two-year trade breakdown identifying the countries, quantities, and deduced value of exported or imported chemicals.
