ABSTRACT
No one needs to be reminded that the world faces serious environmental problems, ranging from uncertain purity of water supplies in many communities to the more global problem of acid rain, to name but two examples. What many people may not have realized is the close relationship of scientific and technical research and engineering projects to the search for a solution to each environmental dilemma. Behind such research and active projects is the large body of sci-tech information, found in libraries and information centers around the world.
