ABSTRACT

The two Koreas’ extremely diverging political systems not only are difficult to be integrated but also have serious implications for the global political order. The process of reunification seems long drawn, especially after the collapse of the Hanoi talks. The failure has also severely undermined Kim’s status in North Korea. The chapter further throws light at Kim’s governing philosophy and strategies, while looking at the future trajectory of North Korea’s nuclear policy and how it determines Korean unification.
