ABSTRACT
This chapter briefly outlines some of the public and environmental health risks associated with the extraction of raw materials and the management of waste. It outlines some of the key risks associated with managing waste from the community and healthcare facilities. It ends with a brief discussion on some of the circular economy approaches employed to address the risks.
