ABSTRACT

Leadership has come about as the result of a shared vision, clear values and a lot of hard work. The emphasis on the importance of interaction led to great conversations across the staff, encouraging the fostering of new ideas, competencies and home-grown talent. The Academy framework was developed to provide all staff with a clear learning pathway and the tools and resources to excel in their role and career. The Academy contains a rich mix of modules, webinars, coaching and on-the-job structured training. It helps individuals to become more self-aware and develop skills that are aligned to their role and motivation preferences. Businesses will always face challenges; constant change and shifting demands are inherent to a competitive and ever-changing environment. A leader must be able to make tough decisions, stand tall and be accountable — qualities and skills that individuals are not generally born with, but which can be learned.
