[O’Connell]

These four manuscripts are all in the Wordsworth Library, Dove Cottage, as MSS 1989:161.15, 1989:161.51, 1989:161.50 and 1989:161.52. They are evidently parts of a body of draft material for the article on Daniel O’Connell and the Repeal Agitation that De Quincey was preparing for Blackwood’s in November 1843 (a date given internally at p. 499 below).
