[‘Affghanistan’, drafts]

There are four manuscripts relating to the article, ‘Affghanistan’ published in Blackwood’s (August 1844). One is the brief note (MS Dove Cottage 1988:193) dated 5 July 1844, and included with the transcripts above of Fragments, 1844. Two more drafts are in the National Library of Scotland: MS21239 ff. 81/2 (12 February 1842) and NLS MS21239 ff. 65/8. And a fourth is in Worcester College: MS 128.
