ABSTRACT
After acknowledging the character of Jesus Christ, as already stated, our author thinks to strengthen his opposition to our holy religion, and to gain credit to his infidelity, among those, who are not in the habit of inquiring with accuracy for themselves, by assuring the world, “That it is impossible now, to know who were the authors of this story of the resurrection and ascension; as it is to be assured, that the books in which it is related, were written by the persons whose names they bear. The best surviving evidence is the Jews, and yet they say it is not true.”
