ABSTRACT

The main goal of the chapter is to analyse and compare examples of legal solutions that can be found in selected national maritime and transport laws. Many national laws are based on solutions that were created by the international conventions on multimodal carriage. However, some legal solutions can be unconventional, even if created on the basis of the legal solutions contained in international conventions.

Moreover, some national laws represent quite a different approach. There are examples of solutions which cannot be classified into the classic division of the multimodal carrier’s liability regimes, i.e. the network or the uniform system and their modifications. In the chapter the author will also attempt to describe and analyze the national solutions in this area.
