ABSTRACT

Evidence-led practice allows us as practitioners to make professional decisions that can be supported by research. As a reflective student practitioner the people will understand that the continuous process of reflection allows the people to adapt our practice to meet the demands of contemporary society. M. Savin-Baden and C. Howell-Major state that a literature review allows the researcher to focus on and engage with theories in the field and this can help the development of their own question, providing the context and foundations for later findings. Questionnaires are a versatile means of collecting information and can be used in the collection of both qualitative and quantitative data. The challenge for researchers is to ensure that the questions asked elicit the required response. Typically, student researchers may decide to begin their research with a questionnaire and then develop the information by carrying out interviews.
