ABSTRACT
There are many roles and persons responsible for effective technology transfer at NASA. The NASA Technology Utilization Division is primarily responsible for technology transfer and it’s role is described. The role of “Spinoff” and “NASA Tech Briefs” are cornerstones in a program to make NASA’s technology available. The librarian’s role is to bring together all of the information resources that come to bear on a topic, including NASA/RECON and ARIN. The added ingredient of a librarian in the technology transfer picture expands the horizon of inquiry beyond traditional technology transfer. At the same time, when a librarian is exposed to technology transfer programs, it enhances his/her usefulness to patrons beyond traditional library science limits.
