ABSTRACT

The study aimed at gaining a perspective on the nature of the emerging knowledge production regarding teacher emotion in Asia over the past 30 years. The trends of 253 articles on teacher emotion about and/or from Asia published in peer-reviewed journals between 1990 and 2019 were analyzed. The study employed a descriptive lens, specifically analyzing differences in research details such as volume, research location, research foci, participant type, educational level and research type in Asia, and how these evolve over time. The findings on developmental evolution in the intellectual structure of teacher emotion widen out views to the challenges but also opportunities that exist. The study detected that the speedy growth in the quantity of teacher emotion literature in Asia, unseals the possibilities of constructing of knowledge production.
