ABSTRACT

We experience the uncanny “… when the border between fantasy and reality is blurred…”, Freud writes (Freud, 1919: 258). It accompanied my thoughts whenever I have dealt with the topic of the internet or video telephony and psychotherapy in recent years, and that was quite common; for example, when I sit in front of my computer and Skype. I have been using internet telephony for therapy hours for eight years, sometimes four days a week. ‘Skypen’ has become a term for this technique, which makes it possible to call over a computer network on the basis of the internet protocol (Wikipedia, 18.11.18 enforced, VoiP = voice over internet protocol).
