ABSTRACT
It seemed so easy at the time. A single sheet of paper filled with questions like, “How much money did IBM make in 1978?” and “How much is a first edition of A Farewell to Arms worth?” At the bottom of the sheet were a dozen or more sources to be found in the university library. Twelve weeks of this, and I had completed my coursework in reference services: all at my own pace, all at my own leisure.
