ABSTRACT

The introduction provides a background and overview on concepts of decolonisation and higher education in Africa. It further explicates the aim of the volume to review decolonisation under the lense of hybridity and positions and contexualises the editors and their goal. Furthermore, the relationship between Decoloniality and postcolonialism is discussed before reappropriating Homi Bhabha's concept of hybridity in contemporary concerns around decolonisation. This leads to a new take on knowledge, science, and indigeneity as sketched out in this chapter. The introduction concludes with a presentation and review of the volume's contributions.
