ABSTRACT
This article discusses the creation and use by the military of a special current awareness tool called Current News. This publication, which is produced daily from a variety of news sources, identifies and transmits through military communication channels stories that are of particular interest to the Department of Defense installations. Other publications and the roles they have played or are currently playing in the military information community are also mentioned.
