ABSTRACT

The collaborative remix video imagines new ways of analysis, discourse, and creativity. Our collaborative remix video manifesto takes its inspiration from multiple sources and especially three prior manifestos: The Situationist International; Digital Humanities 2.0; and Feminist Data Manifest-No. The video essay is a vital part of the scholarly toolkit. In the Mix endeavors to disrupt this approach by modeling a pathway into collaborative video work. We have the tools to disrupt the endless loop of “both sides” that can shine light on shared spaces that may serve to reconnect our communities and rebuild our public space and civic engagement. In the Digital Humanities Manifesto 2.0, there was a call for work that expands the possibility of research and praxis through transdisciplinary collaboration and multimedia forms, alongside the understanding that such work can and must be accessible across and beyond the walls of academia.
