ABSTRACT

The chapter begins with examples from popular culture demonstrating a ubiquitous desire for deeper, more holistic organizational transformation and fulfilling human development. It underscores the paradox of personal and professional transformation in separate realms and proposes that successful, sustainable 21st-century corporations will synthesise the two.

Drawing from decades of professional practice, observational research and collaborative reflection, the chapter illustrates successes and shortfalls in current practices in organizational development, change leadership, organizational culture design and leadership effectiveness. It proposes that Jung’s depth psychology applied within organizations can bridge human and corporate systems whether working with individuals, teams or executives. The chapter closes with a perspective of the sea change required in corporate models for sustainable success by catalysing human potential and serving society beyond the enterprise.
