ABSTRACT

The human predilection for controlling nature has grown with the cultural development of our species. This one-sidedness brought about a loss of soul, a distancing from our oneness with nature and a disconnection from the creative forces of the irrational. Images of the Devil, Mephistopheles and Rumpelstiltskin symbolise the forces which drain energy from the conscious collective, resulting in a splitting-off of vitality. A reconnection to long-forgotten narratives, fairy tales, dreams and symbolic worlds helps to name the split which raises to consciousness the illusory nature of control, thus allowing for an experience of soul through which new life is born in each moment.
