ABSTRACT

This chapter explains what the evaluation process is; what, how, and when to evaluate; and how to help virtual group members make virtual group coaching (VGC) what they should do all the time through the separation and adoption steps. Normally, two types of evaluation are conducted: formative and summative evaluation. The fact that various aspects should be considered to evaluate the change efforts appropriately and thoroughly might make the client feel difficult to conduct an evaluation by themselves. Therefore, a VGC can help the client perform an evaluation following a step-by-step guideline. The eight-step practical guidelines are: planning, to determine the people involved, to select evaluators and evaluation criteria, to examine relevant information, to decide the appropriate methods for data gathering, to gather data, to analyze the data gathered and feedback and communication of the evaluation results. The purpose of VGC is to enhance virtual group effectiveness by improving group dynamics and processes.
