ABSTRACT

In this chapter, virtual group coaching is explored through a positive process and approach. The benefit of virtual group coaching is the capability of using different platforms and technologies with a group of individuals while sourcing positive changes into the group culture. Given the dearth of technological tools and platforms in the virtual space, it can be quite simple for practitioners to adopt and build competencies for positive change practices with virtual group coaching. Ultimately, it focuses on people, purpose, and delivery supported through virtual coaching with the application of positive approaches like Appreciative Inquiry. There is a skillful deployment of using the elements within group coaching and adoption of positive change to transform the attitudes of those non-believers. The two common approaches to achieving positive change in the virtual group coaching process are Appreciative Inquiry and dialogue methodologies. The ability to incorporate positive change through a virtual context has many different folds, some positive while others are not.
