ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to define the action planning model and to explore as a process and approach. It presents additional guidance on vital characteristics for the Virtual Group Coach to engage clients, such as active listening, collective transformation, creative and effective solutions, and potential challenges and opportunities. Action planning is a step within the Action Research Model, which is an imperative cycle to understand the whole system of why the change is needed and how interventions would impact the system at large. As stated by D. D. Warrick, the five steps of the action planning process are: involve key stakeholders, evaluate and prioritize relevant data, agree on the changes to be made, develop a change strategy, and clarify roles and follow-through responsibilities. Though the action planning process in a virtual context may seem complicated and non-collaborative, the previously stated steps will continue to allow for a successful and inclusive action planning.
