ABSTRACT

This chapter explains how virtual group coaches (VGC) can implement the action plans using technologies during the intervention step of the Action Research model. It describes how to improve group dynamics and results, the roles of VGCs, common challenges experienced by the VGCs, and useful tools and technologies in the intervention step. VGC can improve group dynamics during the intervention step by establishing effective communication, building and maintaining trust and rapport among the participants, and reducing their feeling of isolation. During virtual group coaching, the primary goal of VGCs is to produce a mutually agreeable solution and outcome for all participants. VGCs can use various tools and technologies to help them succeed during the intervention step. These tools and technologies can be software applications for video conferencing, instant messaging, project management, time tracking, document storage and file sharing, brainstorming, mind mapping, and idea management.
