ABSTRACT
This chapter explores women’s experiences of caregiving for their ill or dying ex-husbands. The authors show how these women experienced role ambiguity as ex-wife caregivers through interactions with friends and family, with institutions as they deal with professionals and in their workplaces, and intrapersonally in confusion over their roles and feelings.
