ABSTRACT

Ethical standards involve those rules or guidelines that establish what conduct is acceptable or not acceptable, whether in the workplace or elsewhere, as well as those morals and values that comprise each of us. Many organizations, professional certification bodies, clinical research entities, governing bodies, governments, and other entities establish “Codes of Conduct” for acceptable behavior-based guidelines. Appreciating what does and does not encompass ethical standards is critical for the role of the health informatics professional.
