ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author discusses how he approached apparent difficulty while developing a course in light of the post-method framework as a novice teacher in a supervised teaching practicum at a university in Thailand. Once the author had a clear picture of his own values as well as an initial idea of his students’ language needs, learning styles, and personal interests, the author could begin to piece together our course. As the students were interested in business and marketing, the author proposed to the students that the people use this descriptive writing as the first part of a running project to create a travel guide for future practicum teachers. Planning any course presents a difficult task, and maintaining a post-method approach can seem tiresome. However, by practicing the teaching skills, such as planning, reflecting, and collaborating with students and colleagues, the author was able to more effectively teach his students and grow as an instructor.
