ABSTRACT

The study of political representation in Greece at least over the last decade has brought some insights through the analysis of both descriptive and substantive political representation. This chapter provides an overview of the main findings of these studies since the outbreak of the economic crisis in Greece in 2009. One of the main conclusions is that some changes have been made to the composition of the Greek parliament following the onset of the economic crisis and that levels of ideological congruence are comparatively low, despite an increase in party supply during the crisis period.
