ABSTRACT
My poem/prose hybrid examines, poetically, the ability to take a form that Spanish colonizers imposed on indigenous populations and remake it into a tool of liberation. I use the form of “coritos”. or religious songs, often used to promote simple lessons to children, and I deconstruct the form into a something new that is suited for a feminist testimony on outsiders.
