ABSTRACT

This chapter offers a brief response to Part III of the handbook, which explores grassroots and critical modes of action intended to instantiate a practice of energy democracy, and to deepen our understanding of such practice. This response first notes interconnections that emerged across the chapters, particularly as related to the justice, participation, power, and technology framework introduced in Chapter 1. Then it lays out some future directions for energy democracy research and practice that emerge from the modes of action highlighted in these chapters.
