ABSTRACT
This chapter offers a brief response to part IV of the handbook that directs attention to principles and constructs characterizing participatory processes that appear to empower citizen efforts to compose and sustain energy democracies. This response first reviews the themes that span the chapters in this section and then offers suggestions for future directions in research on the importance of democratic and participatory principles to energy democracy.
