ABSTRACT

This chapter is a response to chapters presented in Part V of the Routledge Handbook of Energy Democracy. This part addressed tensions associated with a variety of energy sources and technologies, including fossil fuels, nuclear, hydropower, solar, and wind. These tensions include but are not limited to resistance or the lack thereof to traditional paradigms of technocracy, demonstrations of power, poor quality public participation, and marginalization and other justice-related issues. This chapter provides both a summary of key themes from the section chapters as well as suggestions for future research.
