ABSTRACT

In the early 1960s, Ivor Goodson and Mick Jagger were classmates at the London School of Economics. But why did Ivor not become a member of the Rolling Stones; and can Ivor’s role in educational studies be compared with Jagger’s role in rock music? What are the similarities and differences in how their careers developed? Could Ivor’s professional development in education be attributed to his separation from Mick Jagger? This chapter will furthermore discuss the important contributions Ivor Goodson made to educational studies, and his influence on particular developments and what I personally learned from him.
