ABSTRACT

This chapter considers how to help the people as a mentor to support their beginning teacher to develop their understanding of physical confidence and how to think more through movement and develop a love for movement within their teaching. At the end of this chapter, the people should be able to: Support the people beginning teacher to foster curiosity and confidence in the essential elements of good practice in primary physical education, support the people beginning teacher to optimize learning within primary physical education and Support their beginning teacher to adopt strategies to continue to develop the people own teaching and mentoring of primary physical education. Transferable skills are really useful to include in lesson planning. There are two main ways to observe movement and skills in isolation and then one combined way to observe. It is also important to have discussions with the beginning teacher about what else other than physical learning is occurring within the physical education lessons.
