ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors develop ideas about Mentoring for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) mentoring and how they will support their beginning teacher in STEM, from the perspective of being the director of a large STEM Hub. It uses everyday examples and is written from author vision of ‘STEM for all’. At the end of this chapter, the people should be able to: Support their mentee to understand what is STEM, know why STEM is important, Support their beginning teacher to know how and where STEM can be incorporated within and across the curriculum, Support their beginning teacher to develop their awareness of numerous opportunities and resources to enhance both their knowledge and understanding of STEM and Know how to mentor their mentee to develop their STEM teaching. Today’s digital technology provides greater demand for, and access to, science knowledge via media and electronic sources.
