ABSTRACT
“He’s a real pro,” “She did a really professional job on that project,” “You handled that like a true professional.” Words of praise? You bet. We all want to hear that about our good work, right? Of course. But what does the word “professional” mean? Why do we care? In this day of artificial intelligence, gossipy news and crazy politicians, does that word even mean anything anymore?
