ABSTRACT

The digital transformation that a growing number of companies are currently undergoing is powered by technology, but the results of its application depend almost entirely on people, on their capacity to understand what is happening and on their ability to adapt to changes brought about by the need to integrate, use, connect and work with digital machines. Speed, storage, cost of hardware and networks are constantly evolving, confirming Moore’s Law (cost of core technology decreases, while performance increases at an exponential rate). This means that it has now become affordable to adopt technologies that used to be too expensive and/or less powerful. The current technology price-performance level makes it possible to incorporate these technologies to solve current business problems in ways that were not possible before.
