ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book addresses the dire need for studies exploring the affordances of data-driven learning (DDL) for pre-tertiary learners. It outlines a variety of conceptual recommendations and methodological solutions for the implementation of DDL into school curricula, as well as how to overcome potential barriers to its integration. The book shows that DDL can and does work with primary and secondary learners of both first and second languages in a diverse range of language learning and teaching contexts, while the contributors have provided a variety of practical DDL-focused lesson plans and activities. It presents the studies that are some of the clearest evidence yet that DDL has a place in the pre-tertiary curriculum and that the best is yet to come for DDL with younger learners in the near future.
