ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the volume and argues that for legal education to be excellent, legal education research must also be excellent. We note that there is a range of ways of establishing excellence in this field and suggest that the first step should be to connect to general research in education and then recognise the disciplinary imperatives of law which legal education research must draw on and be informed by. We introduce the various chapters with the hope that this volume represents collective provocation to further thought, reflection and research into legal education.
