ABSTRACT
In the coming decades, human well-being and population might be affected by the increasing frequencies of extreme weather events. This chapter discusses major theoretical concepts related to natural disasters. A number of case studies are described to illustrate the relationships of climate change, disasters, and human health outcomes.
