ABSTRACT

As described in the earlier chapters, health impacts extend beyond mortality. This chapter examines general and communicable diseases morbidities associated with temperature and rainfall in an urban context. Hospitalisation patterns of a number of health outcomes such as respiratory infections, hand, foot and mouth disease, Salmonella, rotavirus, norovirus are discussed. With the changes of ambient urban environmental temperature in the decades to come, the current morbidity-service related patterns provides the basis of future projects of service burden.
