ABSTRACT

This chapter presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. This book demonstrate how becoming aware of the authors’ respective involvement, puzzlement and also their own cultural and language competence or lack thereof made them question their own predispositions to their research and their collaborators and enabled them to dig deeper into data analysis or interrogate the established vocabularies of research philosophies. It focuses on employees’ narrative analysis and on the concept of cultural reflexivity to parse learning processes in cross-cultural collaborations. The book proposes the intentional teaching and acquisitions of language skills as mobile and flexible and enabling students to leave their linguistic ‘comfort zone’. It offers the notion of linguistic reflexivity to be more strongly, more intentionally and more purposefully incorporated into the exploration of what it means to learn, teach, research and interact in a multilingual world.
