ABSTRACT

This chapter traces the development of the Intergenerational Summer Camp Passing Time and Dreaming Mind for young children and older adults, which La Crèche childcare centre has been running for the past five years in Northern Italy. The Camp was one of the original pilot actions supported by the TOY project between 2013 and 2014. It also represents one of the first European examples of an intergenerational summer camp involving young children and older adults. The chapter analyses how the summer camp idea was born and which actions were taken to further develop it including involving adults with Dementia. The authors have included some practical suggestions for organisations interested in running similar intergenerational summer camps.
