ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the practical application of problem-solving strategies. Planning, training and demonstration are tailored to the identified constraints, which have deterred the development of market gardening in Korot and Jos areas. On-farm activities took the form of informal training talks on the specifications, materials and labour requirement of each of the proposed sites. The participating farmers, in their respective groups, were taught the way to use the package during one day of informal training. This included discussions and demonstrations on the principles, processes and methods, as well as other aspects of composting. On-farm activities took the form of informal training talks on the specifications, materials and labour requirement of each of the proposed sites. During the regular monitoring visits, individuals and small groups were assisted in developing previously identified potential additions to water sources close to their farm plots.
