ABSTRACT

Alberto Stefana gives us an in-depth introduction to Milner’s work on creativity and art. He shows us how Milner’s thinking evolved through creative lived experiences within her own relationship with art. He highlights two concepts with Milner’s process of fusion: fantasy (only in internal reality can two separate items merge into one); and illusion (a fantastic relationship with an object perceived externally). Marion’s presence in psychoanalysis in Rome and within the psyche of many Italian psychoanalysts is also evident within this chapter.
