ABSTRACT

Paul Giladi and I were first introduced to each other in 2017 by Alison Stone, my PhD supervisor, after Paul touched base with her about epistemic injustice and recognition theory. Ever since, Paul and I have been in communication about the subject and have respectively produced work with stakes in both third-generation Frankfurt School discourse and the ever-expanding feminist social epistemology literature. We remain as struck now as we were back in our first meeting in 2017 by how these two landmark conceptual frameworks, with their own respective literatures, had been variously mined for their powerful ability to help to make sense of injustice and social harm, as well as providing a philosophical framework through which to interrogate potential solutions to socio-political injustices.
