      ABSTRACT

The authors have been creating handcrafted original teaching materials with multimedia-enabled dot codes and conducting activities at various general and special needs schools. The dot codes (originally developed by Gridmark, Inc.), which can link multimedia-like audio files and movies, were used; the audio files and movies were easily replayed by just touching the dot codes with digital sound pens (G-Speak) and/or scanner pens (G-Pen Blue). The “Post-it”-like sticker icons were recently created by the first author who distributed them, in addition to software and hand-tools (digital pens), to schoolteachers for free. The present chapter will introduce the software and hardware used and the school activities performed at a special needs school.
