Concluding remarks book
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book explores the long-run dynamics of economic growth in Turkey since the 1950s. It discusses some important results and policy implications about how Turkey can increase its medium- and long-run growth potentials. The book analyses the effects of incentive programmes on the economic performance of regions in terms of labour market effects. It suggests that both the inter-regional trade and exports of the textile and transport equipment industry narrow the per capita income gap irrespective of the regional origin of the exports and the regions where trade takes place. The book draw attention to the necessity of implementing policies to encourage increases in female labour force participation and to promote the gender equality in labour markets.
